The event is not your average half marathon! From cultural landmarks and heritage to the city's quirky and hidden secrets, runner get to explore the capital on a route like no other!
The race starts by The Strand, finishes by Downing Street and has fabulous views of London’s most iconic landmarks including Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, Nelson’s Column, the Gherkin, the Shard, the Tower of London and the London Eye.
The event is proud to deliver a pan-London community engagement programme and involves London wide schools, boroughs, community groups, cultural organisations, sports clubs and businesses in both event development and on the day.
LCS Fundraiser and Administrator, Sarah Mallick, ran the event in 2021. Well, 'ran it' might be a bit of an exaggeration but she completed it, running, walking and crawling to the finish line. As a newbie half marathoner she was thrilled to finish it "I was nervous, I have never taken part in a race like this before.
The crowds of charity cheerers were so supportive, entertaining and downright cheerful all the way - they really helped us cross the finish line. I never thought I'd describe running that kind of distance as fun, but it was" said Sarah.
